“Continuing your training as a diver is a great way to improve your skills and abilities whilst having amazing adventures at the same time. Everybody has a specific area of diving they’re extra interested in; Wrecks, photography, deep dives, night dives and so on. For almost every area of interest there is a course that will give you the oppertunity to explore and learn more about your favourite activity. Just focus on what you love most and become a better, more confident and experienced diver!”

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
The best way to develop your skills and increase your experience, is the PADI Advanced Open Water course. In this course you will make 5 dives, including a navigation dive and a deep dive. The other 3 dives you can determine with your Instructor. Think of wreck diving, underwater photography, fish recognition, peak performance buoyancy etc. There is a theory chapter for each dive, but it’s not a lot and there’s no exam. Learning by doing!
Theory
The philosophy for the Advanced Open Water course is 'learning by doing', this means the theory you need to learn is limited. It consists of doing 5 chapters online that correspond to the 5 topics of your dives. You will need to do the knowledge reviews in each of the 5 chapters, but there is no exam involved. You can do the theory in your language and before coming to Ibiza.
Confined Water
Being a certified diver allready, there is very little need for confined water training in the Advanced Open Water course. Where necessary we will do a short beach dive to get you into diving again if it has been a while, but the vast majority of the course will be in Open Water.
Open Water
The Advanced Open Water course consists of 5 open water dives. The Deep dive and Navigation dive are mandatory, which leaves 3 dives for you to choose. Together with your Instructor and depending on logistics, you can choose; Boat dive, Night dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy dive, Underwater Imagery dive, Search & Recovery dive, Wreck dive, Fish Identification dive.
Duration
The Advanced Open Water course takes 2 days. On the first day we will do 2 dives and theory, and on the second day two dives in the morning and one in the afternoon. We are flexible in our planning, so we can also do 4 half days (morning or afternoon).
Costs
We have 4 package deals for the Advanced Open Water course; the price is 336€ for the Basic version (Adventure Diver Course), 448€ for the standard, 508€ for Premium and 992€ for VIP. There are no hidden costs.
Pre Requisites
To be able to participate in the Advanced Open Water course, you need to be generally healthy, a minumum of 12 years old and be a certified Open Water diver (or equivalent).
5 reasons for you to become Advanced
- You will be certified to dive up to 30 meters of depth, world wide
- You will learn to do more task oriented dives
- You will learn to be more proficient and independent at underwater navigation
- You can ‘taste’ from 5 different areas of diving
- Being able to dive deeper, will open up a lot of previously unaccesable dive sites for you
Our 5 Star Difference
Doing the Advanced Open Water Diver course with Cala Pada Diving Center, we give you free choice in 3 of your Advanced dives instead of imposing a fixed package. Our zoned off diving area at the diving center is perfectly suited for practicing new skills before going on the boat. Ibiza also has many divesites that are very suitable for Advanced Open Water Divers so you can put your new certification to use straight away. We teach the Advanced Open Water Diver course in English, German, Dutch & Spanish.
I did my Advanced course at Cala Pada and I enjoyed it so much. Doing the theory online from home was great, I was already into it before flying to Ibiza. The staff are so friendly and they are very accomodating and flexible too.
Thank you guys so much, I’ll be back 🙂

PADI Rescue Diver course
In the PADI Rescue Diver course you will learn to respond to and act on problems and accidents, but you will also learn to recognise them at an early stage and prevent them. You will start by learning loads of skills in confined water, like responding to a diver in panic, out-of-air situations and bringing an unconscious diver safely to the surface. Obviously you will also learn the underlying theory, like search patterns for searching a lost diver, or taking charge and delegating in emergency situations. After all this you will make a number of dives in open water where you will apply your newly learnt techniques in scenarios, where we will simulate emergencies as realistically as possible. Super intensive, exciting, exhausting but you will learn a lot!

“The PADI Rescue Diver course is one of the best presents you can give yourself. It is the ultimate combination of FUN, learning and challenging yourself. You will walk away from it being a better diver, a better buddy and with loads more confidence. Don’t forget the Rescue course is not just about responding to emergencies, it is also about preventing them. Certainly one of the most fun courses in scuba diving.”
Richard – PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
Theory
You will need to read 5 chapters of theory for the Rescue Diver course and make the knowledge reviews of each chapter to make sure you have understood everything.(Online). After discussing these knowledge reviews with your Instructor there is a Rescue Diver exam to be done at the diving center.
Confined Water
In the PADI Rescue course you will spend quite a bit of time learning and practicing new skills like how to help a panicked diver safely, giving an unconcious diver rescue breaths in water or bringing an unconcious diver safely to the surface. After mastering all these skills you will need to apply them in Open Water.
Open Water
We will conduct several rescue scenarios, which means we will do some open water dives, where (simulated) accidents or problems may occur. You will then need to determine how to act, which skills you learned in confined water will be best suited to use, and apply them. These simulations will be as realistic as possible, so be ready for the unexpected!
Duration
The Rescue Diver course will take 3 days, which we can split up into 6 half days. The Emergency First Response course will take one day. Our planning is flexible, so contact us to checkout possibilities.
Costs
We have 4 package deals for the Rescue Diver course; the price is 547€ for the Basic version, 796€ for the Standard, 856€ for Premium and 1432€ for VIP. There are no hidden costs.

Our 5 Star Difference
Guiding divers every day next to teaching courses, our Instructors have seen every possible diving problem 10 times over and work from lots of experience. This really helps in teaching you what works ‘in real life’ and what will be the problems that will most likely occur in your future scuba diving adventures. Having lots of experience in teaching Rescue Diver courses, our Instructors really know how to find the perfect balance between realism, stress, fun and an optimal learning environment. You will also experience very quickly that we absolutely love to teach the Rescue Diver course. We teach this course in English, German, Dutch & Spanish.
I was in doubt for a long time if I should do my Rescue course or not. I didn’t know if I was up for it or had enough experience to do it. I finally booked the course and it was the best decision I ever made! Don’t get me wrong, it was very tough but also very very rewarding. I did and learned things I didn’t think I would be capable of. The team really know how to push you, but not too much. I am really gratefull for this amazing experience.
I had a great time and would recommend it to everyone.

PADI Specialties
PADI Specialties are a cool and easy way to increase your scuba diving skills and experience. You will focus on a specific area of diving that you are interested in. Night diving, Deep diving, Wreck diving, Drift diving, you name it. Most specialties consist of a bit of theory and 2, 3 or 4 dives. Just chase whatever it is you love so much about diving, and become an expert!
“Specialties are very safe, as long as you know what you are doing; Wreck diving, Deep diving, Nitrox diving, Night diving or Self Reliant diving are not the activities where you’d just want to ‘wing it’. With proper training however, they can really add depth to your adventures. Stay longer, go deeper, go places you couldn’t go before, the possibilities are endless. Next to safety, Specialties just make you a more competent and confident diver in general, extending your general diving skills and experience. To top it off, they let you focus on the stuff you love doing or seeing. To me that sounds like a triple win!”

The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is the scuba diving equivalent of the black belt in many martial arts sports. It means you are an experienced, versatile and confident diver. It is, however, not a professional level certification. The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is designed for divers who want to keep developing themselves, but have no interest in teaching or guiding others. The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is the highest possible level in recreational diving. Contact our team if you think you are up for the Master Scuba Diver Challenge and we can make a tailor made plan to get you where you want to be!
