PADI Divemaster cursus
PADI Divemaster zijn is erg cool, maar er moet nog veel werk verzet worden om daar te komen!
Deze cursus leert je om gecertificeerde duikers te begeleiden bij hun fun dives, snorkelcursussen te geven en PADI Instructors te helpen bij het geven van verschillende duikcursussen en Discover Scuba Dives. Naast het leren van nieuwe vaardigheden en capaciteiten, loop je stage waarbij je met echte studenten in cursussen werkt, Discover Scuba Dives geeft en echte duikers begeleidt.
Theorie
Er is behoorlijk wat theorie bij de Divemaster-cursus betrokken, zoals kennis over apparatuur, PADI-regels, algemene duikkennis, maar ook natuurkunde en fysiologie. Je moet dit allemaal online en via presentaties van je instructeur doornemen voordat je de 2 Divemaster-examens aflegt, waarvoor je 75% moet scoren. Je kunt je theorie online vanuit huis beginnen voordat je naar Ibiza komt
Beschut Water
Een groot deel van de Divemaster-cursus wordt gegeven in beschut water. Je leert vaardigheden te demonstreren, reddingsoefening 7 te oefenen, de Divemaster-stresstest en zwemtesten. Uiteraard zul je ook veel instructeurs assisteren voor je stage.
Open Water
Voor de Divemaster cursus leer je gecertificeerde duikers te begeleiden vanaf onze boot, assisteren bij vervolgopleidingen en open water cursussen. Ook de Deep en Search & Recovery workshops vinden plaats in open water.
Duur
De planning van de Divemaster-cursussen is flexibel en hangt gedeeltelijk af van andere cursussen die worden gegeven (de cursussen waar je bij moet assisteren). Normaal gesproken duurt de Divemaster-cursus 12 dagen. Het hoeven geen opeenvolgende dagen te zijn. Neem contact met ons op voor een persoonlijk cursusplan.
Kosten
We hebben 4 pakketdeals voor de Divemaster-cursus; de prijs is € 1098 voor de Basic-versie, € 1155 voor de Standard, € 1248 voor Premium en € 1732 voor VIP. Alle prijzen zijn exclusief de PADI-Fee, die ongeveer € 140 bedraagt en die je rechtstreeks aan PADI betaalt.
Voorvereisten
Om deel te kunnen nemen aan de Divemaster-cursus, moet je over het algemeen gezond zijn (een medisch certificaat is verplicht, dat kan bij ons duikcentrum voor € 57), minimaal 18 jaar oud zijn, gecertificeerd zijn als reddingsduiker, gecertificeerd zijn (of bijgewerkt) in Emergency First Response in de afgelopen 24 maanden.

Being a Scuba Diving Instructor you will ultimately be responsable for peoples lives, so expect us to be tough on you throughout the course! (We are very nice people though 😉 )
Working with your fellow students (who will become your lifelong friends and worldwide network), you will be taught the basics of educational theory, build upon your Divemaster knowledge and skills, learn to use assistants effectively and become a master of the PADI system. Following and teaching theory presentations, pool workshops and teaching in Open Water will be your daily tasks, getting feedback and improving every day.
Theorie
In the IDC we will assume you allready learned most of the dive theory in your Divemaster course. (Although we will obviously check en help you where needed). We will therefore focus on what's new for you, which is PADI Standards and educational theory. You will need to do the dive theory exam 2 times and also the PADI standards exam twice. Next to that you will learn to teach (short) theory presentations. Before the starting date of the course, you will be required to work through the theory online.
Beschut Water
One of the major parts of the IDC is learning to teach skills in confined water. You will demonstrate the skill and you'll need to solve any problems that might occur when your "students" give it a try. We will spend time to improve on your skill demonstrations, rescue skills and different workshops.
Open Water
Parallel to confined water you will also learn to teach in open water, focussing on safety, efficiency and good teaching practices (like optimal use of your assistant).
Duur
The IDC (including EFR Instructor) takes 12 full days plus 2 days for the Instructor Examination.
Kosten
We have 4 package deals for the Open Water course; the price is 1150€ for the Basic version, 1725€ for the standard, 2204€ for Premium and 2703€ for VIP. All prices are excluding PADI (exam) fees. These are around 900€ that you pay directly to PADI upon booking your exam.

Theorie
As a PADI Instructor you had to learn a lot about PADI Standards, or dive theory. As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you need to able to explain this to them on an Instructor level. This means you will need to do the same exams as your candidates, but you will need to score 80%. You are expected to teach some of the IDC presentations too, according to the PADI system of teaching theory presentations, of course. Furthermore you will learn how to score presentations for your candidate.
Beschut Water
You will be required to demonstrate parts of the skill circuit for your Instructor candidates and coach them to a higher level. There will be an assessment of your skills before the IDC starts. You will need to teach high level confined water presentations, and also learn how to score your candidates and assign mistakes.
Open Water
Like in confined water you will need to show your mastery of teaching in Open Water. You will learn how to score your candidates, assign problems, what to focus on, how to give them proper feedback and general coaching techniques.
Duur
The IDC Staff Instructor course consists of one day preparation where we asses your skills in confined, open water and theory and teach you scoring techniques. After that you will assist in a full 12 day IDC with real students. You are invited to attend the 2 day Instructor Examination too, but it's not mandatory.
Kosten
We have 2 package deals for the IDC Staff Instructor course; the price is 723€ for the standard and 1098€ for Premium. These prices are excluding PADI Application fee of around 140€ that you pay directly to PADI upon certification.

PADI DSD Leader cursus
Theorie
Er is heel weinig theorie te doen in de DSD Leader cursus. Er wordt echter wel van je verwacht dat je alle relevante PADI Standards kent en toepast, wat betekent dat je een kort Standards examen moet doen.
Beschut Water
Tijdens de DSD Leader-cursus geef je minimaal 4 Discover Scuba Diving-programma's in beschut water.
Open Water
Er zijn geen vereisten in open water voor de DSD Leader-cursus, hoewel je gerust mag oefenen met het lesgeven van de optionele open water duik uit het DSD-programma.
Duur
We zijn flexibel in het plannen van de DSD Leader-cursus. Uiteraard hangt de planning ook af van boekingen voor het Discover Scuba Diving-programma, omdat we willen dat je met echte studenten werkt (gelukkig hebben we elke dag boekingen). Je moet minimaal 4 Discover Scuba Diving-programma's geven, wat betekent dat je minimaal 2 dagen moet besteden. Het hoeven geen opeenvolgende dagen te zijn.
Kosten
De kosten voor de DSD Leader-cursus bedragen € 198,-, exclusief de PADI-inschrijfkosten van circa € 50,- die je bij certificering rechtstreeks aan PADI betaalt.

Om deel te kunnen nemen aan de DSD Leader-cursus, moet je een gecertificeerde PADI Divemaster met onderwijsstatus zijn.

PADI Assistant Instructor Cursus
De PADI Assistant Instructor-cursus is de eerste helft van de Instructor Development Course. Dit betekent dat je na certificering je Instructor-cursus op elk gewenst moment in de toekomst kunt voortzetten. Als Divemaster was je vooral gericht op gecertificeerde duikers en in de Assistant Instructor-cursus ga je je richten op het daadwerkelijke lesgeven. Hoewel je niet bevoegd bent om veel cursussen zelfstandig te geven, heb je meer opties en vrijheid bij het assisteren. Een groot pluspunt is dat je, in tegenstelling tot de Instructor Development-cursus, niet het officiële PADI Instructor Examination hoeft af te leggen of EFR Instructor hoeft te worden om gecertificeerd te worden.
Theorie
Als assistent-instructeur moet je uiteraard de theorie aan je duikstudenten kunnen uitleggen, dus je leert hoe je theoriepresentaties geeft volgens het PADI-onderwijssysteem. Je moet ook weten waar je de PADI-normen kunt vinden en hoe je ze in verschillende cursussen kunt gebruiken. Dit betekent dat je het PADI-normenexamen moet doen en met 75% moet slagen. Verder leer je veel over educatieve theorie. Je moet de theorie doornemen voordat de cursus begint.
Beschut Water
We zullen je demonstratievaardigheden in beschut water updaten en verbeteren. Je leert ook hoe je vaardigheden op een veilige en effectieve manier aan studenten kunt leren
Open Water
In open water leer je hoe je vaardigheden aan leerlingen kunt aanleren, hoe je 100% de controle behoudt en hoe je assistenten effectief kunt inzetten.
Duur
We zijn flexibel in het plannen van de Assistant Instructor-cursus naar jouw behoeften. De cursus duurt 7 dagen (of 14 halve dagen), die niet aaneengesloten hoeven te zijn.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course
The Open Water Scuba Instructor course is the second half of the Instructor Development Course. It is specifically designed for PADI Assistant Instructors or diving Instructors from other organisations wanting to become a PADI Instructor. You will allready understand the basic underlying principles of teaching, so we will focus on improving and applying them to other courses. You will take part in the 2 day PADI Instructor Examination after completing the course.
Theorie
You will need to brush up on your diving theory and understanding of PADI Standards, for both of which you will need to pass an exam with 75%. There will be theory presentations you need to attend, but also theory presentations you will need to give based upon the PADI system of education.
Beschut Water
There will be skill circuit demonstrations and confined water presentations you will give and several workshops too.
Open Water
In open water you will teach different skills from different courses, showing you are in control all the time and you can organise open water lessons effectively and safely. You will also demonstrate mastery of rescue excercise 7.
Duur
The Open Water Scuba Instructor course will take 7 days, including a primary assessment before the course starts. The Instructor Examination will take 2 more days.
Kosten
The Open Water Scuba Instructor course costs 849€ (or 1447€ with the EFR Instructor course included), excluding PADI exam fees of approximately 900 euro's your need to pay directly PADI.

Emergency First Response Instructor cursus
De cursus Emergency First Response Instructor is een aparte cursus van de Instructor Development Course, maar een integraal onderdeel van het worden van een volledig gecertificeerde duikinstructeur. Je leert hoe je Emergency First Response-cursussen geeft, met behulp van hetzelfde onderwijssysteem als dat van de IDC. Naast demonstratievaardigheden van hoog niveau en een grondig begrip van de onderliggende theorie, leer je hoe je je studenten vertrouwen kunt geven, zodat ze in actie komen als ze in de toekomst ooit een noodgeval tegenkomen.
Theorie
Voor de EFR Instructor cursus moet je up-to-speed zijn met de EFR theorie waarvoor je de examens opnieuw moet doen en moet slagen met 75%. Verder krijg je een aparte theoriehandleiding online op Instructor niveau, waarvoor je ook het examen moet doen.
Beschut Water
De EFR Instructor cursus is een droge cursus, maar we brengen je EFR vaardigheden naar demonstratieniveau in praktische sessies.
Open Water
De EFR Instructor-cursus heeft geen onderdelen in het water, maar we zullen je trainen om verschillende vaardigheden aan je studenten te leren op een vergelijkbare manier als in de IDC, waar je problemen moet oplossen die je studenten kunnen tegenkomen tijdens vaardigheidsoefensessies.
Duur
We zijn flexibel in het plannen van de EFR Instructor cursus. Over het algemeen moet je 2 dagen rekenen, afhankelijk van het aantal studenten. Het hoeven geen opeenvolgende dagen te zijn.

De prijs voor de Emergency First Response Instructor cursus is € 598. Dit is exclusief de Fee van € 138 die je rechtstreeks aan PADI moet betalen.
Voorvereisten
Om deel te kunnen nemen aan de EFR Instructor-cursus, moet je in de afgelopen 24 maanden gecertificeerd zijn in Emergency First Response, of in de afgelopen 24 maanden een update hebben gedaan.

PADI Specialty Instructor course
Becoming a PADI Specialty Instructor is your next step in evolution on the ladder for PADI Instructors. It means you will be trained to start teaching PADI specialty courses. The PADI Specialties you like! As a PADI Specialty Instructor you will be able to teach exactly what you love, to divers with similar interests. It broadens your horizon and gives you more options as a PADI Instructor. Doing 5 PADI Specialty Instructor courses at the same time is your roadmap to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer!
Theorie
There is not so much theory involved in the Specialty Instructor course, but you will need to teach theory presentations on one topic, similar to what you have learned in the IDC, this time specifically adapted to the Specialty you have chosen.
Beschut Water
Dependig on the Specialty / Specialties you have chosen, there might be a short confined water session to practice specific skills.
Open Water
For all specialties that require 2 or 3 dives, you will need to do one open water dive where you execute the skills required for the user and teach skills to students, resolving any problems that may occur. (similar to the IDC open Water presentations). For Specialties that require 4 dives for the user, you will need to do 2 dives.
Duur
You need to count on half a day per Instructor Specialty. When booking the MSDT package we can be a bit more efficient.
Kosten
We have 2 deals for Instructor Specialties; the price is 169€ for the standard and 499€ for Premium. Prices are excluding Specialty Instructor applications fees, that you will need to pay directly to PADI. Which are 51,60€ per Specialty and 97,20€ for the MSDT rating.
Voorvereisten
To be able to participate in Specialty Instructor training, you need to be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (or higher) in teaching status. Some Specialties require you to be in possession of the user level specialty certification (Nitrox for example). To be certified a an MSDT you need to have certified at least 25 divers.
